Paris Police Officers Association 2021 Spring Varmint Hunt coming soon
This year’s annual local varmint-hunting tournament sponsored by the Paris Police Officers Association is just around the corner. The 2021 Spring Varmint Hunt will begin at noon March 13, at the American Towing, located at 1840 N.W. Loop 286, with check-ins beginning exactly one hour before.
The organization said that participants, who are required to pay $100 per two-person team, must abide by all Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) rules and weigh-ins will be conducted at the same location at 12:30 p.m. March 14, which is exactly 30 minutes after the competition ends.
The association said that all participants wishing to receive their scores and weigh-in results must show no later than 1:30 p.m. March 14, at the American Towing. Also, there is no trapping allowed during these hunts, which will be strictly enforced. In addition to these rules, animals must be self-sufficient before being harvested and, in the event of a tie, a coin flip will be conducted to break the tie and decide an outright winner.
Any violations will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of any money paid for entry. The big cat and dog pot requires a $40 entry fee per team and each winner will receive a 50-percent payout from the collected funds.
