Pantherettes score 46-37 victory at Cooper
After falling against Edgewood for their first loss of the season, the North Lamar Pantherettes knew they had to bounce back. With that, the Pantherettes (8-1) got back into gear, traveled by bus to Delta County, and defeated the Cooper Dogettes by a final score of 46-37 to record their eighth win in nine tries this season.
North Lamar was limited to 15 first-half points, and the Dogettes scored 10 of their own. The defensive struggle between the two teams turned into an offensive shootout in the second half. In the end, North Lamar was able to outscore Cooper 31-27 in the second half to secure the victory.
Mylee Nottingham led all scorers with 12 points, while Cydnie Malone totaled 11 points for North Lamar. Maddie Walters added 8 points, while Macy Richardson scored 7 points. Hutton Pointer and Lauren Dority ended the game with 4 points and 3 points, respectively, while Dani Blount had 1 point.
Presley Limbaugh led Cooper with a team-high 11 points, while Whitney Langley scored 7 points. Chesney Kinnamon and Madison Murray each added 5 points, while Kenzlee Randle tallied 4 points. Heidi Wood and Macy Green finished with 3 points and 2 points, respectively.
Both the Pantherettes and Dogettes will have their respective Thanksgiving breaks and, afterward, will resume regular-season play. The Pantherettes will play again at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Prairiland. Meanwhile, the Dogettes will try to rebound with a win at 6 p.m. Tuesday at former district foe Chisum. For more sports coverage, click here.
