NL senior Iltis joins Mean Green family
North Lamar High School senior pitcher Karsyn Iltis is headed to the University of North Texas after signing her national letter of intent to join the Mean Green.
Iltis, the daughter of Jackie and Tim Iltis, leads the North Lamar Pantherettes with a .451 batting average, 122 career hits, 14 career home runs and 120 RBIs. As a pitcher, she has a record of 2.49 ERA and 124 strikeouts. Iltis plans on studying kinesiology at UNT, which is in Denton.
“I’m excited about my future at North Texas, continuing to play softball, and my education,” Karsyn said. “I want to thank my parents, coaches, and teammates that have helped me through the journey.”
Before her prematurely-ended junior year, Iltis helped lead the Pantherettes all the way to the Regional Finals as a sophomore. Iltis was dominant during North Lamar’s postseason run that year. She pitched nearly every inning of that postseason while swinging one of the hottest bats on the roster and received national recognition for her herculean efforts in guiding her team past Melissa in a tough Regional Semifinals series.
