Mustangs record 10th win of season at home against Grand Saline
On Tuesday night, the Chisum Mustangs won their 10th game of the season in 11 total contests. In Mustang Gymnasium, Chisum hosted Grand Saline and defeated the visiting Indians by a final score of 57-42.
Chisum (10-1) coasted to a 29-14 halftime lead, led by eight points in the second quarter from junior point guard Keaston Lawrence. Grand Saline picked up its intensity in the second half with 28 points of its own, but the Mustangs matched the visitors’ point total with 28 second-half points of their own.
Junior guard Worm Price led Chisum with a game-high 18 points while Lawrence scored 17 points. Evan Wood added 12 points and Rylan Boutwell had 4 points. Espn Blyton swished a 3-pointer in the first quarter, while Jett Petkus finished with 2 points. Brayden Brown also chipped in with 1 point and a solid defensive presence in the paint.
