Lady Patriots take down Caddo Mills on the road 47-36
The Prairiland Lady Patriots continued to hoop over the holidays when they traveled about an hour to the south to face the Caddo Mills Lady Foxes in their home gym on Tuesday. From the opening tip, the Lady Patriots controlled the pace and went on to cruise to a 47-36 victory.
Caddo Mills came out of the gates slow by scoring just 14 first-half points. Prairiland surpassed that total with its 17-point first quarter. The Lady Pats added 11 more points in the second quarter with seven of those coming at the free throw line courtesy of junior Ali Sessums.
With a 28-14 halftime lead, Prairiland answered every Lady Fox bucket or run with one of its own to secure the win down the stretch.
Sessums led Prairiland with a game-high 17 points while senior post Hannah Murdock scored 15 points. Malorie Sneed and Abi Farmer finished with 6 points and 5 points, respectively, while T.J. Folse had 2 points. Marisa Richardson led the Lady Foxes with 10 points.
The Lady Patriots will take the court again at 2 p.m. Saturday at their district rival Chisum Lady Mustangs. For more sports coverage, click here.
