Lady Patriots bounce back with win over Mount Pleasant
Following a Saturday defeat at home against Class 1A heavyweight Dodd City, the Prairiland Lady Patriots basketball team regrouped. The Lady Patriots (1-2) got their first win early in their season by defeating the Mount Pleasant Lady Tigers by a final score of 57-47.
The Lady Patriots had their offense clicking well throughout the contest. Prairiland managed to put 30 points on the board in the first half behind 13 points from senior post Hannah Murdock. Defensively, the Lady Patriots collected 28 total rebounds and recorded several turnovers for fast-break opportunities. Prairiland also scored 11 points in the fourth quarter but did not record its first points in the frame until the 3:48 mark.
Murdock led Prairiland with a game-high 23 points, while junior Abi Farmer also reached double figures with 11 points. Kiersten Bridges and Malorie Sneed scored well from the backcourt with 7 points apiece. Junior Ali Sessums contributed with 5 points, while Chloe Raley and T.J. Folse each scored 2 points.
