Lady ’Cats soccer team finishes 1-1-1 in Terrell Tournament
Last Thursday and Friday, the Paris Lady Wildcats traveled down the interstate to compete in the Terrell Soccer Tournament, which was held at Terrell High School. The Lady ’Cats played three games during the competition with varying results in each of their outings against Waxahachie Life, Terrell, and Sulphur Springs.
In its first tournament game, Paris took on Waxahachie Life on Thursday and ultimately fell 5-1 as the visiting team. Paris junior Eva Vogt scored the lone goal which was assisted by senior Bryce Mills.
The Lady ’Cats bounced back in their second tournament game, this time against the host team Terrell Lady Tigers. This matchup was the team’s second Thursday game, which Paris won by a final score of 2-0. Star junior Ashley McGuire scored both of the Lady ’Cats’ goals while Vogt and junior Macey McAmis came up with an assist apiece.
Finally, Paris faced Sulphur Springs in its final game in the tournament. Goals came at a premium with defense taking center stage. In the end, the match resulted in a 1-1 draw as McAmis found the back of the net off the assist from Vogt.
The Lady ’Cats (4-4-2) will take the field again at 7:15 p.m. tonight at Texas High. For more sports coverage, click here.
