
Lady ’Cats dominate Pittsburg in bounce-back victory
In Wildcat Gymnasium on Tuesday night, the Paris Lady Wildcats needed a district win. Paris earned the important win on their home court to secure a tighter hold on a playoff spot. Consistent play in all facets helped the Lady ’Cats dominate Pittsburg in straight sets. Paris collected the victory by a final score of 25-11, 25-8, and 25-13.
Before their triumph over the Lady Pirates, Paris lost three consecutive district matches. Two of the losses came at home against Pleasant Grove and North Lamar. Then, the district-leading Gilmer Lady Buckeyes won at home against the Lady ’Cats. During the three-game skid, Paris won one set against Pleasant Grove.
As a team, the Lady ’Cats collected 36 kills, 8 blocks, and 13 aces. This season, Paris won each of their six total sets against Pittsburg by double digits.
Junior outside hitter Macey McAmis led the charge with 11 kills, 5 digs, and 4 aces. Senior middle Hannah Gibbons chipped in with 7 kills, 3 blocks, 3 digs, 2 aces. Meanwhile, junior middle Presli Chapman added 7 kills, 1 block, and 3 aces. Junior setter Lilly Lewis poured in 4 kills, 33 assists, 1 dig, 1 block, and 2 aces.
