Texans QB Deshaun Watson facing nearly 20 assault charges
The ongoing saga between the Houston Texans and its disgruntled star quarterback Deshaun Watson, who formally requested a trade earlier this year, continues to get uglier as the days roll on. Recently, Watson was accused with multiple allegations of sexual assault and misconduct by multiple women. Now, the number of accusations has now reached 17 according to Tony Buzbee, the attorney who is representing the women in their respective cases.
The alleged incidents were said to have taken place during massages Watson received dating back to 2020 and as recent as this past month. Buzbee said he would send affidavits and pieces of evidence from multiple women to both the Houston Police Department and Houston District Attorney on Monday morning. He also said he will present evidence to the grand jury and will request to see if the jury will consider bringing charges against Watson from the state level.
Watson said he has treated women with nothing other than “the utmost respect,” while his lawyer Rusty Hardin said Friday that the claims against Watson are “meritless.” For more sports and outdoor coverage, click here.
