Sooners land top wideout in 2022 class
The Oklahoma Sooners football team received a commitment from Talyn Shettron, a junior wide receiver at Edmond Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. With Shettron’s commitment, the Sooners have now landed the top wide receiver prospect in three of the last four recruiting classes.
After the Sooners landed Shettron, he joined Jadon Haselwood (2019 class) and Mario Williams (2021 class) as the school’s recent top overall wide receiver commits. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound future Sooner looks to make an immediate impact upon the 2022 season’s arrival.
Along with Shettron, the Sooners landed two other ESPN Jr. 300 list top-50 recruits in Luther Burden and Jordan Hudson. Both players are also highly-ranked wideouts on the ESPN Jr. 300 list. Shettron was the school’s fourth ESPN Jr. 300 list athlete to commit joining Hudson, Burden, and linebacker Kobe McKinzie.
Currently, the Sooners (3-2, 2-2) sit in fourth place in the Big 12 standings. After losing back-to-back games to Kansas State and Iowa State, Oklahoma has bounced back with consecutive wins over the Texas Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs. For more sports coverage, click here.
