LeBron James signs 2-year, $85 million extension with Lakers
Four-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James guaranteed his time in Tinseltown would continue. On Wednesday, James’ agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group confirmed a mutual agreement between both parties on a 2-year, $85 million contract extension. The terms of the contract will have James inked and suited up through the 2022-23 season.
James, who will turn 36 later this month, averaged 25.3 points per game in the 2019-20 season along with a league-high average of 10.2 assists per game. Over the next three seasons, James is expected to collect a total of about $125 million in salary alone.
When his contract ends, James will have 20 NBA seasons under his belt, and will likely see his son Bronny James graduate high school and continue to pursue his own already-promising basketball career. In addition to these aspects, James will be 39 years old if he plays out his entire extension. For the latest sports coverage, click here.
