Doncic scores 33 as Mavs handle Magic to eclipse .500 mark
The Dallas Mavericks have scorched the nets in recent weeks as the Luka Doncic-led squad recorded a 130-124 win at the Orlando Magic, the Mavs’ eighth win in their last 10 games. The Mavericks were in a close contest into the second half, but Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis went to work to help Dallas (17-16) pull away and secure the victory to eclipse .500 on the season.
Dallas led Orlando 61-58 at halftime, but the two Mavericks’ stars along with a solid performance from Jalen Brunson aided the Mavs in building their lead. Brunson scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half while Doncic and Porzingis combined for 23 points in the final two quarters of play.
Doncic finished with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, while Porzingis added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Brunson scored 24 points to go with 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Maxi Kleber had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Josh Richardson and Trey Burke also reached double figures with 11 points apiece.
The Mavericks will go for their 10th win in their last 13 games at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder. For more sports coverage, click here.
