The North Lamar Pantherettes basketball team was scheduled to face the Bullard Lady Panthers in the Bi-District round of the postseason at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Pittsburg High School. However, due to inclement weather, the contest was rescheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Pittsburg High School.
Thursday’s inclement weather has seen freezing roads and the temperature in the 20’s, thus the Pantherettes’ playoff bout against Bullard was postponed to the weekend. The cold weather has also canceled school for most schools within the surrounding area in addition to several other playoff games.
The Pantherettes earned the third seed in their district
and are trying to bounce back from a 52-50 home loss to the Paris Lady Wildcats
, their second loss in two tries against their crosstown rivals. On another note, the second rivalry match was a display of class as North Lamar
presented Paris senior Quiniya Savage
with a $200 check as a scholarship
in memory of Paris High School
’s late head girl’s basketball coach and girl’s coordinator, Jeff Chapman
The Pantherettes drew Bullard in the first round for the third consecutive season
