Local basketball courts heat up with more pre-district action

Local basketball courts in Lamar and Fannin Counties are heating up with quality action both on Friday and Saturday. Headlining both the boys’ and girls’ sides, the Paris Wildcats and North Lamar Panthers will take the court, while the Bonham Purple Warriors will have games on Friday and Saturday. The Dodd City Lady Hornets will highlight the girls’ Friday-night action in Fannin County.

In Class 4A, the Paris Wildcat boys team will try to bounce back from an overtime loss at Class 5A Mount Pleasant. With that, the Wildcats will try to collect another win at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clarksville Blue Tigers. Meanwhile, the North Lamar Panthers will go for their second win of the year at 6 p.m. Friday at home against Aubrey.

On the girls’ side, the Paris Lady ’Cats will host Hugo at 6:30 p.m. Friday, while the Pantherettes will attempt to collect their 11th win of the year at noon Saturday at home against the Canton Lady Eagles.

In Class 3A, the Chisum Mustangs will attempt to win their seventh game in eight tries at 6 p.m. Friday at home against the Cooper Bulldogs, while the Prairiland Patriots will take the hardwood at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Honey Grove.

On the Fannin County basketball courts, the Bonham Purple Warriors will host Wolfe City at 6 p.m. Friday, while the Dodd City Lady Hornets will host Class 5A Lucas Lovejoy at 6 p.m. Friday on their home court.
