Dodd City cross country athletes run into regionals
The Dodd City High School varsity cross country teams had success in the Area Meet on both the boys and girls teams. Last Wednesday, both teams finished in second place overall at Miller Grove High School. Furthermore, six boys and six girls placed in the top 25 individually. Autumn Brown was the top female finisher after earning sixth place, while Jaden Mahar finished a team-best eighth place as a boys’ individual competitor.
Along with Brown, Kaylen Atchley got an eighth-place finish, while Carson Morrison finished in 11th place. Zoie Hobbs recorded a 14th-place finish, while Prairie Wild earned 15th place. Tiana Jenkins also made her mark by ending up in 17th place individually.
On the boy’s side, Landon Allen and Aaron Munger joined Mahar in the top 10. Allen recorded a ninth-place finish, while Munger took home 10th place. Ethan Bernard claimed 13th place, while Garrett Morrison and Ian Baker finished in 22nd place and 25th place, respectively.
The Dodd City cross country runners will compete in the Regional Meet next. The meet will take place at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Jesse Owens Memorial Complex in Dallas. For more sports coverage, click here.
